Dealing with stress? You’re not alone

The COVID-19 outbreak introduced a lot of stress into everyday life—and I want to help you cope with that stress. Being stressed can compromise both your mental and physical health, and everyone reacts differently to stressful situations.

 Plus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a few suggestions for dealing with stress during the COVID-19 outbreak:

Disconnect from the news, including social media.
Take care of your physical health.
oBreathe! Take deep breaths, stretch or meditate.
oEat healthy, well-balanced meals.
oExercise regularly, get plenty of sleep.
oAvoid alcohol and drugs.
Spend time unwinding. Make time for hobbies and activities you enjoy.
Reach out to your support network. Talk with people you trust about your concerns and how you are feeling.
Having trouble sleeping? Practice good sleep hygiene—get into a sleep routine, try to exercise during the day, and consider trying calming techniques like meditation or documenting in a journal
Good physical health and good mental health are related, so it’s very important to take the time to check in with yourself regularly, and reach out for help if you feel overwhelmed or anxious about anything.
